About Fused Glass Jewelry
These fused glass pieces are handcrafted designs using dichroic glass and sterling silver. Pieces of glass are cut, assembled and fused in a kiln at temperatures above 1500 degrees fahrenheit. The temperature determines whether the glass is completely fused and smooth, or partly fused leaving the shape of each individual piece of glass intact.

Some pieces contain additional enclosures of handcrafted hammered sterling silver or cubic zirconium fused into the glass. Sterling silver wire is wrapped around the glass pieces by hand.

Additional materials such as glass paint, metal foils, glass powders and frits are used to create different patterns and effects in the glass.

What is Dichroic Glass?
Dichroic glass is glass coated with a thin layer of quartz crystal and metal oxides using a highly technical vacuum deposition process. Originally created for the aerospace industry, dichroic glass has a transmitted color and a completely different reflective color, which provide the spectacular shift of light and colors in these pieces.
